The Southern Nevada Council of the Social Studies
would like to recognize members who have contributed to the profession through
professional development, grants, fellowships and awards. See what our members
are up to.

Liz Bash of Arbor View High School recently went to Saudi Arabia courtesy of   Saudi Aramco.
Liz  applied for the award through the Institute of International Education .  
Promoting  international literacy  Liz  delivered a presentation
"A Red Headed Feminist Goes to Saudi Arabia" to the  SNCSS  at the 2007
Spring conference. Congratulations Liz, and thanks for sharing
your amazing experience.  

 Jeff  Hinton has been named the 2007
 James Madison Graduate Fellow  
Each year one teacher
per state is selected for this award that
includes a $24,000 scholarship to complete
a masters degree, and 6 graduate credits for
attendance at the "Summer Institute" at
Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
